Your age plays a big part in your ability to get pregnant fast, and this is largely because fertility declines as people get older. However, you should probably seek medical assistance if you’re under 35 and trying to get pregnant for a year. Talk to a specialist if you’re between 35 and 40 and been trying for six months to get pregnant. And contact a specialist for immediate help if you’re over 40 and still struggling to get pregnant.

If you suspect a reason for yourself or your partner to have fertility problems, it is advisable you book an appointment with a licensed specialist to determine what the problem is.

But if you have no reasons to fear for your fertility and ability to conceive, you might find it helpful to start taking folic acid at least once a month before you start making preparations for getting pregnant. This reduces the risks of birth defects in your baby; and it also makes good sense to use other prenatal vitamins recommended by your doctor.

All things being equal, the following are some tips that will greatly increase your chances for getting pregnant faster – when you surely want it:

Tip 1: Go for Pre-Conception Checkup or Genetic Testing

Visiting your medical specialist to schedule a pre-conception check will give you assurances that your body is ready for the task of accommodating a successful pregnancy. The test will also reveal if there are any health issues you must resolve with a view to getting you pregnant much faster.

Furthermore, your family history and ethnic background might necessitate that you undergo a genetic screening to determine if you or your partner carries the genes for inherited diseases like sickle cell anemia and cystic fibrosis among others. Your saliva or blood sample and that of your partner will be screened for genetic traits – and this is important to ensure that you have very healthy babies.

Tip 2: Know When You Ovulate

The ovulation period is when your ovaries release a ripe egg for sperm-fertilization in the fallopian tubes. You can never become pregnant without ovulating or menstruating – and knowing your specific ovulation days will enable you to plan targeted sex with your spouse with a view to getting pregnant.

Identifying your ovulation period and targeting same for sex increases your chances for getting pregnant faster – and not just having sex on any days of the month when you might not definitely get pregnant.

Having sex on any days of the month does not assure you of pregnancy, but targeting your ovulation days is the way to go for increased chances of success. However, you might want to see a doctor if you don’t know how to calculate or accurately predict your ovulation period – there are a number of ways to do that – or if your monthly period is always irregular in the course of several months.

Tip 3: Get Busy in the Bedroom

Having known your ovulation or ripe period, you must get down to work with your spouse. It is always best to have sex when your partner’s healthy sperms will meet your ripe egg newly released from the ovary. In fact, having sex about three days to your ovulation period is best because sperms can stay active in the woman’s body for up to four days – awaiting the possible release of a fertile egg – but your egg only survives for a day in your body.

Also, having sex every other day (at two days interval) ensures that a healthy sperm is always loafing around in your fallopian tube, waiting for your eggs to make their appearance.

Most doctors seem to favor the idea that having sex with your partner very regularly or two-three times within the week increases your chances of getting pregnant during your ovulation period because very long non-ejaculatory abstinence on your partner’s part makes his sperm to die out, and his present load of semen may contain mostly dead sperms if he only has sex to ejaculate once a month or two. A buildup of dead sperms won’t get you pregnant if you desire to get pregnant faster.

Tip 4: Cultivate Strong and Healthy Sperms for the Task at Hand

Sperms have the best chance of fertilizing a ripe egg when they are plenteous, strong, and healthy. And your partner must cultivate very healthy, strong, and copious amounts of sperms for the targeted task of getting you pregnant faster by:

  • Avoiding alcohol. Daily consumption of alcohols harms the sperms and raises the likelihood of abnormal sperms; and it also reduces testosterone levels, affecting the ability to manufacture plentiful sperms.
  • Shun tobacco and social/illegal drugs. Recreational drugs and stimulants affect sperm quality and motility functions.
  • Consume more zinc, folic acid, calcium, Vitamins C and D in order to develop healthy, plenteous, and aggressive sperms.
  • Avoid hot baths in tubs. Heat destroys sperms and affects the ability of the testicles to manufacture healthy sperms; in fact, the male testicles are suspended from your body because they can’t function nor their sperms survive under the normal body temperatures. So avoid saunas, hot baths, and staying too long in hot baths so as not to harm or kill off your sperms.

Tip 5: Wean Yourself from Contraceptives

Getting pregnant fast can become an ordeal if your body has grown used to contraceptive pills, patches, and implants. And while it may take several months for your body’s natural hormones and system to get used to you again or even get pregnant again, the earlier you stopped these contraceptives the better.

In fact, it is best to stop any kinds of contraceptives six months before you plan to get pregnant and learn to get cozy with your partner while working up to the set time.

Cyclists using busy London roads are found to be exposed to harmful black carbon emissions from vehicles. Cyclists are mostly at risk of inhaling dangerous gases in the evenings when vehicular movement is at its highest. They are therefore advised to use alternative roads to reach their destinations rather than highly trafficked roads where black carbon emissions are highest in the evenings.

This is the conclusion of a study carried out by researchers from the University of Surrey’s Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE), the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and University of Twente (Netherlands). Their finding was published in the Journal of Transport Geography.

Black Carbon Exposure Is Higher On Busy Roads and During the Evening Commute

The Department of Transport stated that a little over three million vehicles are licensed in London. Out of these, 2.7 million are cars. In Greater London, car transportation takes up 35% of all trips and 730,000 cycling trips are made every day. This puts cyclists at the mercy gaseous emissions released by thousands of vehicles along busy roads.

The air pollution study examined the levels of black carbon emissions that cyclists are exposed to on three major routes: the London to Liverpool Street route, Rotterdam to Rotterdam Station, and São Paulo to Paulista Avenue. The result of black carbon exposure on these routes was compared to the same exposure on alternative routes with parks, waterways and natural green facilities.

The researchers were able to conclude cyclists using busy roads in London and São Paulo were at health risks of inhaling higher concentrations of black carbon than those using alternative routes. Levels of black carbon exposure in main and alternative routes in Rotterdam remain the same.

Urban Planners Should Plant Trees, Set Up Natural Parks and Invest In Green Infrastructure

Interestingly, cyclists in São Paulo are twice likely to be exposed to black carbon than those in London and Rotterdam. Meanwhile, London cyclists are exposed to black carbon on main routes in the evening than those who use the same routes in the morning; and they are twice at risk of the emission than those who use alternative routes.

“These findings should be considered when urban planners establish new cycle networks by increasing, as much as possible, the distance between the road and the cycle ways,” said Professor Prashant Kumar, Director of GCARE at the University of Surrey.

Kumar further advised city planners to invest in green infrastructure in major cities since these seem to neutralize the environmental air pollution caused by black carbon vehicles on major roads.

Professor Maria de Fatima of the University of São Paulo said it is necessary to evaluate the impact biofuel-blended diesel-fuelled vehicles have on the peoples and environments of São Paulo, as well as on our planet in general.

Exercise more, get more sleep, get some physical therapies like heat or ice/water therapy, get some physical massage, lose weight if you are overweight, and eat healthy foods that contain all necessary vitamins and minerals needed by your bones, joints and tissues to stay healthy.
  • Medication: It helps to combine some medicines with your lifestyle changes for best results. Some medicines that can help out arthritis include aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, etc.
  • Surgery: Some surgery techniques are effective for treating arthritis cases. These techniques include arthroplasty and joint replacement.
